This review is from: Fat Cat 11.5 Gram Texas Hold 'em Clay Poker Chip Set with Aluminum Case, 500 Striped Dice Chips (Sports)
I bought these so we could have poker nights because I like the clay poker chips. I was excited when these came in but when I opened the packages of chips I was very disappointed. The paint quality is terrible. The chips aren’t brightly colored, or evenly colored. There are light and dark spots in the paint, and the coloring is horribly faded. The paint actually rubbed off onto my fingers as I was unwrapping them. I didn’t expect high end chips for the price but I also didn’t expect them to look like absolute crap either. Some of the chips have small imperfections like blemishes or gouges. I didn’t even bother with unwrapping the playing cards or the dealer buttons. I absolutely plan on returning this item and getting my money back.

These are nice. These are not SUPER nice. If you want chips that tell other people, "Hey! This person spent some real money on these babies! I mean... LOOK at us! We are FLAWLESS! This guy really knows how to spend his money on poker chips! He probably has nothing but Perrier and high-end microbrews in his fridge... right next to the caviar. And just LOOK at that CASE they came in. WOW! You really are not posh enough to play poker with THIS man." Then these chips are not for you. If, however, you want a set of 500 striped clay chips that are pretty nice for less than $40 and have a good weight and feel, then you might want to buy these. Okay. The case is not super nice, but it isn't flimsy either. It has a third clasp, which is nice. The only real fault is the felt-ish lined plastic molding for the chips. Admittedly, not great. But.... $37! Come on! The cards are not the best I've seen. They do not look as though they will last too many poker nights, but you aren't buying the... Read more

Not sure if you can get a decent 500 chip set for the same cost.
Pros: chips have good feel, the 2 decks of cards are not bad, comes with standard buttons for dealer, big blind and little blind.
Cons: check for damage before unwrapping chips, the case is advertised as aluminum but appears to be plastic with aluminum paint, the hinge is riveted in and popped through after one use (see photo), the case does not lock with a key - only with 2 latches, the plastic insert is covered with felt but is thin and cracked after one use, the chip is not clay (see photo) and is a magnetic metal covered in what appears to be polymer, the chip coating wears with rough use.

Since the hinge rivet popped, I am afraid to carry the case for fear of playing 500 chip pickup. I’ll wrap a strap around the case to secure it. There were no complaints from the buddies on the chips or cards but one noticed the color of the chip bleeding (wearing off). I’m a occasional player so I’ll deal with... Read more
