4.0 out of 5 stars Buy for the chips only!, June 21, 2012

These are great chips. The weight and feeling are better than the quality you find at big box stores. They have the "clay like" clink when you drop them down to raise the bet! The imprint quality is good, not a sticker, aside from the occasional blemish here and there. The chips are the big plus and completely worth it.

Now on to the completely worthless items that were also included:

The Cards: use them to light a camp fire or practice flicking them into the trash. So cheap and flimsy they are unusable.
The Dice: I do not trust them as far as i can roll them... they are too light to be standard dice, but not as worthless as the cards.
The Case: Pretty much what you would expect. Although mine arrived with scratches and a large noticeable dent in the top lid despite being packaged in foam on arriving. Who had the case out and was jumping on it?? everything else came sealed in plastic. The wood felted dividers are a bit flimsy so i will have to take care... Read more

My husband and I are very casual poker players, but we wanted a set that wasn't cheap plastic and had chips with a nice heft and "clink" to them. These chips really deliver especially for the price. They stack beautifully, they have a good weight to them, and they are very satisfying to play with. I like the fact that there are no denominations on them so we can decide for ourselves what they're worth. The case arrived completely encased within Styrofoam and in great condition.

A few warnings about this set though:
It is HEAVY (like, surprisingly heavy) and definitely not something you can just carry around casually.
It will be interesting to see if the case handle holds up to all that weight -- so far so good.
The locks on the case clasps don't actually lock -- this is not a problem for me, but it might be for you.
The cards are kind of flimsy as others have said -- easy to resolve for us.

All in all, I would highly recommend this set!

If your a beginner player or someone that has the occasional game at the house with friends this is a great set to start out with. I say that because its not top of the line clay or similar composite material. The chips feel very light almost lighter than 11.5g but I haven't weighed them yet. They feel good stacked and are very sturdy, though they take some time to warm up as I was shuffling them around it seems they have a little more friction than I thought with how smooth and flat faced they are. All around a great set to play with, the colors are very vibrant and I like the simple sleek design of "Royal". Much nicer than the cheap generic set you can get at Target or Meijer. The cards are cheap obviously, the dice are pretty useless but for specific games and the case is adequate. Its a standard aluminum case with 2 lock and keys on the front. I like the wooden dividers in the case, covered in felt they soften the wear and tear a bit on the chips as you play with them. I... Read more
